Behind The Lens

Location

Copalis beach Washington

Time

Sunset evening

Lighting

All natural lighting

Equipment

Nikon d3300 with a 18-55mm lens

Inspiration

The sky was absolutely beautiful that evening. The way the clouds were and the vibrant colors. It’s a rare occasion to have such vibrant colors like this. I just looked back and thought how breathtaking. I wanted to capture this beautiful moment.

Editing

Very minimal just a little touching up in Lightroom with the a little bit of added lighting and lifting of some shadows.

In my camera bag

Nikon D3300 and now my Nikon D7500 as well as 75-300mm lens 18-55mm lens 18-200mm lens and 18-140mm lens. Speed light extra batteries extra cleaning swabs and a tripod.

Feedback

Be patient. Especially if you live in Washington or somewhere that the weather tends to be unpredictable. Every once in a while after a storm we get super beautiful sunsets on the coast. This was in the middle of August that this photo was taken. The colors just happened to be perfect. But patience is key. You can visit the same place over and over again and never take the same photo twice.
