A few years ago passing through Jablanica, a place in BiH marked by the world war II and also the war of the 90s. I stopped to photograph children playing on a type of Mitra on wheels, it was an impressive scene! Going a little further there are the remains of the railway and the skeleton of the old bridge which is the part of the Memorial of the Battle on the Neretva dedicated to the famous World War II battle. Watching the families and their kids playing there it seems to me like a place where sense of irony numbs the thoughts on the past, even if the bridges lie at the bottom of the river the life goes in search of another life with which to share one's experiences, both good and difficult moments.

A very interesting and well done image! Thanks for providing the story of how this remnant is part of the bridge that fell in the war and now serves as a reminder of the past and hope for the present and future. If only people would learn from history - instead of repeating it. Kurt

Wonderful and interesting story thank you for sharing the details of your photograph and sharing your experience and thoughts and yes life goes on and one wonders why man constantly never learns from such destruction.. on my own travels of Croatia I saw many abandoned houses still riddled with bullets abandoned , but still bears the scars of war:-)
