Location
In my garden at home ,in August, When the Periodical Cicadas hatched. Didn’t get very many in my area this year. Maryland ,U.S.A. reported swarms of them.Time
Time of day was late morning, early afternoon.Lighting
Lighting was full sun, but somewhat shaded by the overhang of the house roof.Equipment
I filmed the Cicada with my iPad. In the ‘ square’ mode. Gets the subject in real close. Hand held, hold your breath. Keep steady. No flash.Inspiration
Inspired to capture an insect that only emerges every 17 years in North America, Pennsylvania and other Southern states. The Periodical Cicadas, with spooky Red eyes, and very loud mating calls.Editing
No photo processing . Shot raw.In my camera bag
A few types of cameras. A Digital SLR, Zoom lens, regular lens, cleaning equipment, a Kodak Pocket PixPro, a Nikon coolpix, and a picket cam corder. And a 1950 type triPod.Feedback
Shoot anything that captures your interests. The changing Seasons. Landscapes of things before they are gone. Animals and birds in migration, movement, or carrying Prey. Not so much dead things. People, film people, Babies and or pets.
