I took this photo out at my grandma's little farm house back when I was just getting interested in photography. I was in love with Jordan Matter's ability to tell a story with a single photo, which inspired me to find something unusual to do exactly that!Time
It was a while ago, and I was still pretty young, but I remember being so bored because all there was to do at my grandma's house was to be on electronics or climb trees, which I had been doing way to much of. After a little but of inspiration, I got the idea to do a makeshift photo shoot and was finally able to convince my siblings to model for me. It was only 8 in the morning at the time, so I decided to wait until 12 when the sun was at its highest, so I wouldn't have to worry about weird shadows or bad lighting.Lighting
When taking the photo, I chose the time in which the sun was at its highest to avoid weird shadows. Then after taking some photos of my brother laying next to the trailer and being annoyed with the shadow being casted on his back, I got the idea to actually embrace the shadow by emersing my subject in it. This is when we came up with idea of "hide and seek".Equipment
Believe it or not, I actually used my dad's old phone and just edited it on Instagram.Inspiration
Jordan Matter. If you know you know...Editing
This was the very beginning of my skills as a photographer, which is why I only used Instagram to edit the photo. I love messing around with shadows, highlights, and contrast along side blur to emphasize my subject to the fullest ability. In my camera bag
I am still an amateur photographer, so the only things I have in my camera bag are my camera, strap, and my refraction ball which I love to pull out whenever I find myself in an area with amazing scenery.Feedback
The only thing I can say is don't force the situation. The main reason this shot came out tge way it did is because my siblings were having fun acting out the story behind it.
