Location
I took this at Nevada Beach in Douglas County, NV. I was filming the lake and I got up to 301 ft and I needed to get as many angles as possible for their video focusing on the lake. I thought to myself I bet the shot looking straight down would be cool. So I tilted the camera down and I’m saw it, I saw the perfectly framed photo. So I stated snapped away. The lighting was perfect, the shades in the water were perfect. It was my first tome ever there and I finally got one of my white whales. The perfect composed drone shot.Time
This was around 10:30am in the morning.Lighting
Typically I trying to find dynamic lighting but the way the color of the lake popped I just went for it. I figured the shades of blue would make up for the lack of shadows.Equipment

I’ve been trying to find the perfect birds eye view shot. It’s just been a lot of practice and patience. My goal was to capture the beauty of the lake and beach and this photo did just that.Editing
Just a little. I added a little more clarity in light room but as I recall that was it. I didn’t need to add any color or saturation. The lakes color is incredible as is.In my camera bag
I typically work with a Sony A7s2 my goto lens is the Sony 24-70mm. I also enjoy the Sigma 10-20mm lens. My favorite piece though is the Dji Mavic Pro. I absolutely love flying. Sometimes I have my Panasonic Gx85 which I love because of how small it is.Feedback
It takes a lot of practice and patience. For me I travel for work, and I snap photos on the side for myself for fun. I’ve just been waiting to go to some really scenic places to get that eye catching moment. If you think you see something worth snapping, take it. Don’t walk away thinking what if. And don’t feel ashamed if it’s a cell phone photo because that’s all you have. A moment only lasts for a moment. Take hold and capture it.
