This was taken at my granddaughters birthday party a little over 3 yrs ago. The little lady on the left is my spunky grand, the little one on the right is her half sister. This captures their relationship perfectly. I'm self-taught, & photography has always appealed to me. I hope to have the camera of my dreams one day...a Canon EOS of whatever the latest technology is. All the lenses...and, I may eventually take a photography course as I would love to travel and do nature shots, landscapes, etc.Time
We were at my granddaughters birthday party, it was mid April of 2018, & was really cold that year, as seen by the sock hats the girls donned. I happened to glance over because I heard their giggles...whipped out my Samsung Galaxy J3, (yes, all of my photos thus far have been shot via an Android) and snapped this shot. I played with some filters, & settled on this black & white...I feel it captures more than the color version.Lighting
It was mid afternoon, and I got lucky! The way the light shone through behind them, just perfect. The black & white version only enhanced what my eyes were seeing.Equipment
I used my Android. It was a Samsung J3. Seriously. LolInspiration
My granddaughter. I try to capture her in all her glory every chance I get. H err personality is one of the very best I've ever seen. She's the epitome of innocence. Pure joy, and she shines with her half sister in this shot.Editing
Not much. I played around with the filters that were available to me, and did some minor adjustments with the saturation, & brightness I scaled down a little. That's pretty much it. Being mid afternoon in that parks shelter, the position they were in with the natural lighting was exceptional that day .In my camera bag
All I have is my Android. Alway a Samsung as they gave the best camera features in my opinion. Someday I will own a Canon EOS. With all the bells and whistles. With Whatever model and technology that's available when I can purchase one.Feedback
Fo with what you feel. I've always been an observer, even as a child. And photography has been a hobby for me, & I view it as an extension of my sight...vision. When I see a beautiful sunset, or the way sunlight filters through there's on a beautiful clear day, especially in Fall & even Winter, I want to capture exact what my eyes see. I'm not very knowledgeable with aperture settings, ratios in relation to the settings, but am learning more as time goes on. Best advice I can give here. Is to just relax and go with what speaks to you. Photography, to me, truly is an extension of out own vision.
