Underground Landscape Abstract Nature Photography in Black and White. Originally taken on black and white film stock with high ISO on my Olympus OM2SP then reshot rather than scanning, again with high ISO , to produce heavy , atmospheric contrast in the light and shadow . The cave system known as Smoo Cave is in Durness , Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland near the iconic NC500 route a car or bike road trip with some of the most spectacular landscapes in the World. In old Norse , the cave was called , ' Smujja ' which can be translated as hiding place which inspired the title and the choice of shooting from a high POV looking down on my daughter as she just reached the apex in the walkway bridge into the cave entrance seemed to exentuate the feeling of someone sneeking off to hideaway. The darker shadow created also exaggerates the leading lines producing a greater feeling of movement . Landscape Composition Photography.
