Location
This road is actually called "The Old Spiral Hiway". It's just north of Lewiston, Idaho.Time
It was a beautiful sunny day, toward the end of July, about noon.Lighting
I was looking due south, so all the building faces were in shadow. It made a nice contrast with the roofs, which were of course shining in the noonday sun.Equipment
Nikon Coolpix 900, 1/800 sec, f/4, 115mm equivInspiration
We had just completed a Mini Cooper road rally from Seattle, south to LA, east via Rt 66 to Colorado. With motor oil still in our blood, we decided to take in Mt Rushmore "on our way home." This shot was kind of a tribute to our wanderlust.Editing
It's just cropped a little. In my camera bag
These days I usually just pack my Nikon Coolpix 900 (24mm - 2000mm zoom range) and my Oly OM-D with a Samyang 7.5mm fisheye.Feedback
Dont be in a rush to get some place. Be ready to pull over and step out for a good shot!
