Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in a stairwell at a friend’s place. We were looking for his cat and found her waiting for us on the stairs!

Time

I took the photo in the evening before heading out.

Lighting

The staircase was very dark with a small window letting in light creating some interesting shadows between the steps.

Equipment

For this photo I just used my Nikon d600 and 24-120 mm lens!

Inspiration

I loved the pattern of the stairs and the way Kiara blended in with them while still showing off her personality!

Editing

I just made the photo black and white and decreased the shadows slightly!

In my camera bag

Extra batteries and memory cards are a must. I also like to take at least two different lenses with me in case I would have an idea for a photo!

Feedback

Animals are unpredictable, try to find what makes the individual you are working with feel comfortable. Treats are usually the way to go!
