I took this photo when we were wrapping up the first drive of the day and heading back to camp. I just loved the way the tree stood out from the surrounding landscape! It was the only tree for miles so it really caught my eye.

I took this photo when driving around the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, an absolutely beautiful place!Time
We were driving back to the camp around noon when we drove past this tree.Lighting
Hm, to be honest this is actually something that I didn’t reflect over when I took the photo, I was more focused on the tree itself! It was a cloudy day so the light was very soft which meant that I didn't have to worry about hard shadows.Equipment
I used my Nikon D600 with a Nikkor 24-70mm lens!Inspiration

I generally try to process my photos as little as possible. In this case I changed the colour scheme to black and white and increased the contrast slightly. In my camera bag
A spare battery and an extra memory card are must haves in my bag, no matter what. When it comes to lenses it all depends on what my plans are for the day. If I'm going to be spending a lot of time on foot I usually bring my Nikkor 24-70mm lens or 24-120mm lens. If I'm going to be spending a lot of time in one place or traveling by car I always bring my Nikon 200-500mm lens as I find it to be a very fun lens to work with.Feedback
If something catches your eye, take a photo of it! You never know which photos you’ll end up loving and it's better to take a photo that you end up not liking than regretting not taking one.
