Love how you have captured the sun between the seals. I wish there was an emo icon for feeling 'relaxed' Thsi makes be take a deep breath and just...relax.

Still figuring out this site, so I may have just sent you 2 or 3 empty messages. 😆. Thank you so kindly for your message! It does my heart good to hear that it makes you feel. 🙂

Thank you 😊! I just got it done on canvas, but I think I'll order it in metal.

Location
This photo was taken in Key West, Florida in February of 2021. I am still very new to photography and always looking to improve my skills, try new lenses, and get different angles.Time
One of my favorite photos and memories from my vacation, which I took to avoid the cold spell the country went through, and to take pictures. This picture was taken, obviously, at sunset. Most of my sun pictures were sunrise.Lighting
I took shots of the sailboat heading toward the sun and then waited until just the right moment for this shot. The perfect lighting!Equipment
No tripod was used for this photo. I'm still so new that I haven't used one yet. The lens was the one that came with my Nikon D3400, a 70-300mm. I now have two more lenses, a 105mm Sigma macro and a wide angle, but I really like using the 70-300mm lens because I can zoom in for far away subjects.Inspiration
I couldn't believe my luck that the sailboat was headed that way and how it lined up perfectly for this shot! That, in itself, was inspirational. I was so happy, I remember feeling slightly giddy.Editing
This was taken before I learned about editing. Even now, I only edit with filters on my phone. I'm going to get Photoshop and Light Room soon, when I get back from Utah to Michigan, my home state. In my camera bag
At the time of this photo, I only had my Nikon D3400 and the 70-300mm lens, a few lens wipes, and my batteries and charger. Now I've bought a big Vanguard backpack and keep all my lenses and extra batteries and even my Olympus Tough water camera in it.Feedback
All it takes is luck, patience, and a little skill to capture the shot you want. I've taken a lot of pictures over the past 6 months I've owned my Nikon. Before that, I was using my cellphone. I think it helps to have choices so I can pick the perfect picture. Winning People's Choice is so exciting! Thank you!
