Macro Nature Photography . An Abstract Close Up Floral Portrait using dappled light and shadow to enhance the warm pastel colours of the sculptural beauty of a Magnolia bloom. Using shallow depth and a low POV to create an interesting blurred backdrop from the other flowers and Magnolia trees beyond and allowing the chosen subject flowers to stand out from what could be a busy background that would obscure the finer details of the delicate blooms and buds. This helps to produce a calm and relaxing portrait not just of a flower , but an intimate corner of a Welsh Garden. Taken at Bodnant Gardens in Conwy, North Wales in the UK on the first day after a year of lockdown restrictions mbecause of my Shielded Status from my Health issues , for me personally it is one of many symbolic images of New Life and Hope for a Better Future that I have taken during this time.
