Behind The Lens

Location

Camel Rock - Walaga Lake, NSW

Time

It was early morning, one of the best times of the day

Lighting

My intent was to capture the hues of pre-sunrise whilst getting movement in the ocean."

Equipment

Camera: Fujifilm X-T1 Tripod

Inspiration

Was in my "bucket list"

Editing

Yes, PS. The original RAW file was a little overexposed so obviously had to fix that. Spent quite a bit of time balancing the shadows with the general exposure and enhancing the wave action over the rocks. The Fuji sensor captured all the data and it was up to me to bring out the best.

In my camera bag

I have a two semi-professional kits; Olympus and Fuji. If I'm hiking or getting into difficult-to-get-to locations, I tend to use the Olympus as it's very compact. The Fuji gives me a slightly better outcome (image and post-processing) so that gets a lot of use too. Both great kits though.

Feedback

Planning. In this shot sunrise timings, especially pre-dawn, and tides levels to get the desired effect.
