Location
I traveled to my favorite local park.Time
It was snowing and the temperature was around 25 degrees F. I went to the park around 8:30 AM and started looking for dramatic photos to take. This was my third photo. Everything was mostly black and white which inspired me.Lighting
The snow created a mist type of lighting and created the perfect background for this photo. Very little contrast in this picture.Equipment
Shot with a Canon 6D and a 24-105mm lens on a tripod. I use a cable release to reduce camera shake.Inspiration
The amount of snow that fell on this day was perfect for what I was looking for to take this type of photo. I went out even though it was cold and my fingers were really stiff from the cold. The result was worth it.Editing
The only processing on this photo was adjust the shadows and highlights. There was an overhanging tree on one side that I removed.In my camera bag
I carry in my bag a 16-35mm wide angle lens and a cable release along with lens cleaning tissues which I needed to use on this day.Feedback
Great photos can usually be shot close to home. It just takes a new look at what is in front of you and the right time of the day.
