This photo was taken at Mc Laughlin's Daffodil Hill in Volcano, CA on a beautiful day in March.Time
Sorry, I have no record of the time other than it was in the afternoon.Lighting
Nothing other than when that flower caught my eye, the afternoon sun was perfect. I generally prefer to shoot on overcast days or late in the afternoon.Equipment
My camera is "point and shoot". This photo was shot with a Canon Power Shot A530. No additional equipment was needed. I am more inclined to call myself an imagemaker rather than a photographer. I have little to no interest in the technical aspects of photography......my abilities just don't lie in that direction. I do not have the wherewithal for fancy equipment or trips to exotic places. I enjoy recording life in my own small corner of the world. There is no end to interesting subject matter if we will but open our eyes to it.Inspiration
The wonderful afternoon light on this amazing bloom was my inspiration.Editing
The original photo contained a number of flowers. However, in post-processing I chose to concentrate on this one glorious bloom. This particular photo did not require much work beyond cropping. In many ways, I use my camera much as a painter uses a sketch book. Then, at home, I use Fuji's "My Fine Pix Studio" to create the results I desire. I also enjoy manipulating images with Adobe Photoshop Elements. In my camera bag
Just my "point and shoot" camera.Feedback
All I know is that the bulk of creating an image is "being there". Don't worry about your equipment....you could produce a masterpiece with a Holga or even a pinhole camera. Just get up and get out......BE THERE!
