Behind The Lens

Location

This is the Summit of the Beartooth Pass bordering Wyoming and Montana.

Time

It was mid day August 1st 2009. It was close to 100 F at the base and 35 F at the summit.

Lighting

I was a beautiful sunny day with scattered fluffy cumulous clouds that only caused slight diffusion of the mostly direct sunlight.

Equipment

This was Taken with a Cannon EOS 650, and a 50mm fixed lens.

Inspiration

I was on a Motorcycle Trip, from Alberta Canada, visiting Montana and Wyoming before heading to South Dakota to visit the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and tour South Dakota.

Editing

This picture was processed at a lab and scanned at home without processing.

In my camera bag

I like to minimize my equipment and only have the Cannon EOS 650, a Fixed 50mm Lens, a small Flash, ASA 200 film and a Tripod.

Feedback

On a bright beautiful day when you are capturing a still shot, close your aperture to get a wide depth of field if you want proximal and distal object to remain in focus, with a 1/60s or shorter shutter speed if you are using ASA 200 film for fine grained shots.
