American Gothic inspired this anniversary couple's portrait. I wanted the photograph to be reminiscent of an old wallet photograph or a memory or a dream so I focused on details like her glasses & the knit in his favorite sweater, over their faces that are in soft focus so that the viewer is always searching to make a connection through the eyes, like when we remember friends or loved ones from the past.
