Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in a makeshift studio set up in a spare bedroom

Time

I honestly don't remember! Lighting is all artificial, the windows are covered

Lighting

Lighting is all artificial

Equipment

This was taken with a Canon EOS RP and 35mm lens, using a tripod

Inspiration

I was just playing around with lighting

Editing

The shot was converted to mono using Lightroom

In my camera bag

I normally carry a Canon RP or 80D (I finally wore out the shutter in my trusty 70D) with a Sigma 18/300mm mounted, and a 5D Mk III with any number of lenses, ranging from a 8mm diagonal fisheye to a Sigma 200-500mm telephoto depending on what I'll be shooting. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't plan shots beforehand - I'm a pretty impromptu/opportunistic photographer. I've found I spend the most time with various prime lenses and the 18-300mm Sigma though, the Sigma's range lets you capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the open

Feedback

Makeshift studios are easy to put together, experiment!
