Behind The Lens

Location

Early morning walk brought me to a quiet spot at Thirlmere, in the Lake District. Following a recent storm, I was blessed with winter sun and not so much as a breeze.

Time

I was up and off early, however this was taken around 10am. Prior to that there was too much fog and mist, but patience paid off and nature’s mirror revealed itself.

Lighting

The light was a gift, and not what I was expecting. I didn’t have my tripod with me so taken hand held.

Equipment

Taken on a Canon 5D mark iv. Canon 50mm 1.2L. That’s it...

Inspiration

Who wouldn’t take a photo if this. I had to trample through some soggy undergrowth to get to a good composition spot, and be patient with the wildlife as I didn’t want any ripples from a passing duck.

Editing

Put through Lightroom but with very little, basic adjustments.

In my camera bag

Canon 5D mark iv Canon 50mm 1.2L Canon 16-35 f4L Canon 70-200 f4L

Feedback

Get out there. Be patient and try different compositions.
