Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo on a day out to Brean, Somerset, after the first lockdown was lifted in 2020.Time
It was taken in the late afternoon at 4.55 on 4th September 2020, we were on our way back down the hill to the café, to grab a coffee and a bite to eat before heading home.Lighting
It had been sunny most of the day, but when this shot was taken, the clouds were rolling in, but it was still bright.Equipment
It was taken on a smartphone, something I don't use very often for photography, but it worked perfectly for this shot.Inspiration
I wanted to make a memory photo of me and Dan going to Brean on this day because we were only recently talking after around 5 years of not being able to speak due to other relationship partners not wanting us to talk. We are best friends and have a long history together plus we've had so many previous memories that were not captured on camera (I didn't have a camera back then and phone cameras were very basic). Now I take the opportunity every chance I get to remember the day together.Editing
Not much post editing, just slight adjustments to shadows and highlights. In my camera bag
I like to be prepared so I have my Canon PowerShot SX540 HS, Canon 50mm prime lens, Canon EOS 200d with kit lens - 18-135mm and my Yongnuo speedlite. Spare strap, spare batteries, lens cleaner and brush and a rainproof camera cover.Feedback
Picture the moment of what you want to capture, set it up, smile and shoot.
