One thing that is challenging when trying to have the moon large in an image is getting the spacing right to have something in the foreground. Here I was using a 200-600 Sony lens. In order to to get far enough from these newly fire burnt trees, I had to be on a mountain peak across the valley. I love how the one tree looks like a centipede.
The other thing about photographing the moon is the timing for lighting. Typically people struggle with getting the exposure right. At night the moon is so bright you have to under expose the shot just to get any detail in the moon. In order to get this capture I have to photograph this when the moon was setting as the sun was rising. This is best only once or twice a month. A lot of elements have to align for a photograph like this. LOL

Comment what creature the tree looks like.
