Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in St.Peterburg. I wanted to congratulate my subscribers with New Year's photo sessions with modern Fashion Santa.

Time

We wanted to have time to make this photo session before the New Year. There was little time, so the shooting was carried out at night, there was cold and windy. Fortunately, there are no people at the fair at this time, it was our little New Year's miracle.

Lighting

The New Year's fair is traditionally very beautiful, there are lot of lights and decorations, I only needed to highlight the model's face.

Equipment

This was shot on Sony A7-3 with tamron 28-75/2.8 with an external flash.

Inspiration

One time I saw a Paul Mason - Canadian model, Fashion Santa. I was surprised by the small number of examples of photoshoots inspirations about this kind of Santa Claus - modern, luxary, fashion. It was hard to find a long red men's coat, might be it exist in fashion magazines only not in a shops in Russia)) So we used scenic costume with a classic suit - it's funny and good for New Year Congratulations.

Editing

I prefer to shoot clean and to use color corrections only.

In my camera bag

I like my camera Sony, I have a camera Sony A7-3 for work and a second small camera Sony 6500 for everyday use. I don't like weight so I prefer one universal lens like 24-70 or tampon 28-75 2.8 now. I think it's OK for 95% of photoshoot cases.

Feedback

It's not unique idea to shoot modern Santa Claus. We have a lot of films about him, a lot of images for inspiration. The main is to make a moodboard, to find a stylist, a crew, a model and clothes. If you have a plan everything will OK ????????
