This photo was taken at the Olafur Eliasson exhibit at the Tate Modern in the UK.Time
This was in the afternoon, around 5pm-ish.Lighting
i really wanted to highlight the refracting light in the room that reflects on anaïs’ face. i really love the way the prisms in the room created a shadow effect on her face, which i absolutely adore, and the effortlessly cool chill energy radiates from the unmoving stare that pulls you in and keeps you.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens. Handheld. No flash.Inspiration
I had actually visited this same exhibit with another talented male photographer who is a close friend, alex j corona, on a little creative photography excursion whilst I was in town visiting my best friend. I felt I still had more I wanted to shoot, and a couple nights later when I was having dinner with a bunch of fellow creators who were also all visiting London from abroad, and they said they wanted to go check the exhibit out, we came up with the idea for doing a girls day museum shoot inspired by olafur eliasson’s incredible installations.Editing
yes, handy dandy lightroom! this photo went through a few iterations before landing on this coloring. i couldn’t get the natural shadows to shine the way i wanted in post for the longest time, until i started working on film style personal lightroom presets that mimicked 35mm film. then i tweaked that until i got this beautiful coloring. In my camera bag
something i always have is either my 50mm sigma art lens or my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens. I also love my 85mm sigma art lens as well. my canon eos 5D mark iv is my go-to. i will also have at least 1 disposable 35mm camera, and likely my leica mini 2 point and shoot.Feedback
When exhibitions start opening up and it becomes safe to visit museums again, utilize amazing creative art installations for creative portraiture! go be inspired by other artists and create your own inspired art. prioritize play. but make sure you’re being mindful and respectful of the space and others while you are doing so.
