We will be in lock down again so I am starting a series of rock portraits. I have loved rocks since I was a little kid. I drove my Dad nuts because any where we went I would load the car up with rocks. This is a Petoskey stone. I found it in my front yard after they had dug a trench to install some wiring to an outdoor lamp. It is a rock and a fossil composed of a fossilized rugose coral (Hexagonaria percarinata). It was living coral during the Devonian era 350 million years ago.
