Location
This photo was taken whilst on a dream holiday, starting in Canada to see Niagara Falls then down to experience New York. I had this shot in mind before I left the UK. Taken from Brooklyn looking under the famous bridge back toward downtown Manhattan.Time
A friend and I spent about 2 shooting from different angles between 21:00hrs and 23:00hrsLighting
It was fun experimenting with both long and short exposures as the light was ideal for both.Equipment
This was actually taken on my old camera, a Sony A55 SLT with a standard 18-55mm kit lens. I believe the lens had a Hoya skylight filter on. I also used a tripod and wireless remote.Inspiration
Having looked at many photographs of New York prior to heading out there, this view became a stand out and although this shot has been taken millions of times I wanted my own personal version.Editing
Ok time to be honest. I generally do very little post processing however with this shot I stepped well out of my comfort bubble and tried something different. I watched several tutorials online then had a little try.In my camera bag
I now have a Nikon D7100, 18-140mm, 50mm, 50-300mm lens, a manfrotto tripod and a gorilla pod, a selection of filters including ND filters, spare batteries and memory cards, a torch and cleaning equipment.Feedback
My advice would be to plan ahead. Look for different points of view and try to be a little original
