Behind The Lens

Location

This capture was taken on a stormy day near the Galician coast on the Northwest part of Spain, the Atlantic Ocean

Time

It was sunset when colors move from orange to yellowish due to the wintertime conditions

Lighting

I wanted to get the maximum textures of water coming from the waves hitting hard the rocks, the foam, and the dim light coming from the sunset rays. I chose the 45 mm lenses (90 mm FF equivalent) as I wanted to create a tunneling effect and, thus, a dramatic anarchic scenario

Equipment

Olympus Em1Mark3, with 45 mm Zuiko Pro (equivalent 90mm FF), no tripod thanks to the great stabilization of Olympus Em1 cameras

Inspiration

I wanted and clear, very light capture of that inside of the storm with all lights and textures.

Editing

Some standard post-processing in Lightroom

In my camera bag

Olympus Em1Mark3, with Zuiko Pro 17mm, 45mm and Zuiko 75-300, 9-18 (and 60mm for macro), lenses. A couple ND filters that I use less and less due to the in-built ND digital filter in the Mark3 and a Manfrotto tripod.

Feedback

A difficult exercise that I try more and more lately, is to focus on a specific area on landscape photography and let the imagination flow of what would be around that capture.
