Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture on a street called Victory located in Vale Village,Schenectady,NY.

Time

The time was about mid day sun was bright and great outside lighting conditions.

Lighting

I mainly was glad to be able to use the natural available light and did not have to use no flash.

Equipment

I used a Canon AE-1 that was given to me by an old marine corps buddy who had the camera just sitting around gathering dust.

Inspiration

I kept walking past this spot and seeing that steam shovel and said I need to come up with some creative with this picture. So first I shot it using color film and then I said let me try some black and white film.So I happen to pick up a roll of black and white professional and that did the job.

Editing

I just took this roll of film to local camera shop located downtown Schenectady,NY

In my camera bag

I mainly will keep one camera ready and loaded with film at all times.

Feedback

If you see something creative do not be in a rush to shoot it at first. Maybe do some test shots and think about what different ways you can do the shot or what other film or camera you might could come up with to really make it a classic picture. In this situation I would always walk by this location and I kept the idea in my head until I finally said " I am going to shoot this and see how it comes out " .
