Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo up North Shore of O’hau. During this time, as winter approaches, this means the swell starts to rise and offer the classic pipeline waves here in Hawaii.

Time

This was taken in the ladder part of noon. I remember it being very hot that day where I’d have to run into the water to cool off without missing any important captures.

Lighting

Since the sun was right above my subject, it was pretty interesting examining this capture because it shows how big the wave in the back was being able to shadow the subject’s hand and highlight the white water.

Equipment

Used a Canon EOS Ra mirrorless attached with my 800mm RF Canon zoom lens. Below it, my MEFOTO tripod perched into the sand.

Inspiration

Surf Photography is new to me since I recently got this zoom lens and what better way of practicing by taking pictures of your buddies shredding the gnar.

Editing

No, just the typical Lr/Ps editing.

In my camera bag

Always bring my 800mm RF lens with me where ever I go as well as my 24-105mm lens so I can get a different perspective of everything that strikes my interest.

Feedback

The natural world we live in is a very beautiful place. However, the only thing a lot of individuals need to learn over time is patience. Patience leads to free observation and that at the end of the day, you can capture almost anything.
