It is on this beach in the town of Saint-Marc-sur-Mer that was shot the film of Jacques Tati " Holiday Mr. Hulot". A statue was erected in his memory on the esplanade of the beach.

Saint-Nazaire now famous blue flag hoisted on four of its twenty beaches. May 19, 2015, for the first time in its history, Saint-Nazaire received the Blue Flag, including recognition of environmental quality offered by four beaches : the beach of Mr. Hulot 's Courance, Les Jaunais and Porcé.
