Close up of a restored steam engine that I got to drive building up a head of steam to be able to take the next set of eager passengers down the line at a heritage railway day at Penrhyn Quarry Railway in Gwynedd. This train actually used to run the route upto the late 1960s , originally moving trucks of quarry stone and coal between the various sections of the Penrhyn Quarry and Mining works and so it was a lovely chance to travel not just by steam but back in time on this historic day.
