Behind The Lens

Location
The photo was taken on a trip to the local zoo. Challenge was to get some practice with obstructions in front of subjects. in this case taking a photo without showing the bars of the cage. Came across the baboon just after he had finished his breakfast and was chilling is the morning sun.
Time
Early morning about 07:30. Walked around for about an hour or so sine I was the first guest at the zoo for the day and all the animals haven't at the time been let out of their night cages.
Lighting
As the morning sun lit the subject it created a shadow just around his eyes that made them pop out of the shadow drawing your attention towards his eyes.
Equipment
Shot was taken with a entry level camera. Canon D200 with a 75-300mm kit lens.
Inspiration
I love taking photos pf animals. At the time the zoo seems to be the best option to find animals.
Editing
Yes. Change the colour to greyscale and did some sharpening and denoise.
In my camera bag
As a beginner photographer I'm using entry level equipment. I always pack my Canon D200 body, 75 - 100mm, 50mm & 18 - 55mm lenses.
Feedback
There's a lot of photo opportunities at zoo's for beginner photographer's like myself if you are into animal photography. Gives you some practice with animals and some environmental challenges before you go out searching the wilds for the perfect shot.
