ENGLISH:
It's night. The wind blows strongly on Lake Garda.
We decide at the last moment to take a picture simply improvising.
I didn't bring my easel and I need a long exposure. 10seconds to capture this light, the stars and the soft drapery of the clouds above.
low Iso so as not to have 'noise' and I make up my mind to fix the camera on the backpack on the ground, trying to find the center of the pier in the darkness.
I have no flash .. I have nothing ..
I only have a led battery to see where I move.
I remember a lighting technique, which they used at the dawn of photography and I try to apply it, using that same led, to give light and movement to the wood of the pier. So far there is everything .. It may have been a long-exposure night landscape photo.
But no! .. I photograph people!
The extraordinary thing for me here is that the 'model' is not blurry. 10seconds .. a Roman statue would also come out blurry.
But she's in focus!
And then they ask me why I don't photograph landscapes.
The difference is all here.
On any night, in this season, anyone who knows about photography, from this point, could reply.
But that bare, motionless back on the right ... It's unrepeatable.

Decidiamo all'ultimo momento di fare una foto semplicemente improvvisando.
Non mi sono portato il cavalletto ed ho bisogno di una lunga esposizione. 10secondi belli puliti per catturare questa luce, le stelle ed il drappeggio leggero delle nuvole in alto. Iso bassi per non avere 'noise' e mi invento di fissare la camera sullo zaino a terra, provando a trovare il centro del pontile nel buio piu' assoluto.
Non ho flash .. non ho nulla..
Ho solo una pila led per vedere dove mi muovo.
Mi ricordo di una tecnica di lighting, che usavano agli albori della fotografia e provo ad applicarla, usando quello stesso led, per dare luce e movimento al legno del pontile. Fin qui ci sta tutto.. Potrebbe essere stata una foto paesaggistica notturna a lunga esposizione.
Ma no!.. io fotografo persone!
La cosa per me straordinaria qui è che la 'modella' non è sfocata. 10secondi.. uscirebbe mossa anche una statua romana.
Ma lei è a fuoco!
E poi mi chiedono perché non fotografo paesaggi.
La differenza sta tutta qui.
In una qualsiasi notte, in questa stagione, chiunque sappia di fotografia, da questo punto, potrebbe replicare pressoché nello stesso modo.
Ma quella schiena nuda, immobile sulla destra... È irripetibile.
