I took this in my own home when I was just starting to get paid shoots. This was the shoot that turned a hobby into a career.Time
Funny thing, I actually had to work that afternoon so my model agreed to meet me early in the morning so we could get in as many hours as possible before I had to travel across town for my day job. We squeezed in 5 hours and this is one of the earlier shots, shot in the morning window light.Lighting
This photo specifically was actually taken as a joke. The model is actually close to me and was dating my brother in law at the time. The gesture she is making with her hand was supposed to be a inside joke to them.Equipment
To many people's surprise I actually did this whole shoot on my Galaxy S10e smart phone in portrait mode. I also used my continuous lighting kit with a 600w output to keep her face well lit with the bright morning light behind her creating a warm fairy glow.Inspiration
This photo in particular was more planned than inspired.Editing
I did some light touch up on background noise in light room and photoshop express. I know, not very exciting but I love how I am still able to bring high quality portraits to the table with what I can make due with in materials. My clients are always happy no matter what type of equipment I use. The results are there.In my camera bag
I always bring my lights with me indoor. I love natural light but using my kit to make the natural light do what I want to is not only a challenge but such a rewarding result in photos when done right.Feedback
Don't let you limitations stop you from taking the shot. So what if you only have your phone? Take the shot! You're equipment is not what makes you talented, your vision is. And when you finally do get that dream camera, don't forget where you came from and the people who trusted your vision and supported you even when you showed up to a photoshoot with just a smartphone.
