Location
This was taken at Antrim Castle Gardens, Northern Ireland. A place full of vibrant and beautiful flowers, steeped in history and culture.Time
This was taken in late afternoon, the sun was shining bright and warm on a July day.Lighting
Although it wasn't the golden hour, the sun was gorgeous that day.Equipment
My Nikon D5600 with kit lens.Inspiration
I absolutely love the detail in flowers, the stamens and the lines on the petals. Lilies are great for this as they're so defined.Editing
Only a slight adjustment for the shadows and brights-nothing major as the light was on my side that day anyway. In my camera bag
I always pack my zoom macro lens is a must, the amount of detail in mundane everyday things that you just don't see is incredible. On top of this, my kit 18-55mm lens is a good standard lens for general shots. I occasionally take my 50mm prime lens but the circumstances have to be perfect to use it, and normally I need an idea for a project beforehand. I prefer to just go out and shoot what takes my fancy.Feedback
Daylight (not necessarily sunlight!) is your friend for shots like this. Even if it's cloudy, a flat shot is easier to work with than an over exposed shot. Take your time, and get the angle that you love and shoot!
