Location
This photo was taken at Grand Canyon West Rim on the Hualapai Indian ReservationTime
It was 16:11pm 10th October 2018 this was part of a road trip me and my wife had done crossing 5 states from Orlando though to Las Vegas NevadaLighting
Very hot bright day with clear skies was one challenge with exposure the second was the cabin very old and sun damaged had planks causing sun rays to come through.Equipment
I used my Canon 1300D with a standard 18mm-55mm lens I took the shot free hand however was leaning against a wall to aid stabilityInspiration
Since I was a child I have always been inspired by travel photography and amazing views the kind of thing you would buy a print for your home. Also I captured this to remember the amazing memories of this great place, and hopefully sell them in the future.Editing
I used lightroom to bring out the grain of the wood paying attention not to lose the canyon behind and create balance. This was originally edited in colour but then tried it as black and white and was very happy with this alternative take.In my camera bag
Firstly my Canon 1300D with both kit len 18mm-55mm and 70mm-300mm both EF with UV filter also a full height manfrotto tripod also a Joby Gorillapod for my Samsung S8 with adaptor, a lense cloth and brush and finally lense puffer to keep things fresh and cleanFeedback
Always carry a camera and you don't have to have expensive kit either, capture what you love and take your time but don't over think things enjoy the moments and capture it.
