This photo was taken on Lake Wawasee, the largest man made lake in Indiana. I took it from the third floor of the only resort hotel on the lake.Time
I took this photo during the annual July 4th evening Wawasee fireworks show. The significance is it was 4 months after the beginning of the Covid pandemic.Lighting
I wanted to capture the grandness of the fireworks, showing all 3 barges firing together so that the light off the fireworks would light up all the boats on the waterEquipment
This was shot with a Canon 6D II, 70-200 2.8L with remote shutter release and tripodInspiration
I have been shooting fireworks on July 4th for the last several years to try and perfect my timing and setup. I was really pleased with this image and it gives me the confidence to venture into more creative fireworks shooting.Editing

I normally always carry my canon 6D body, a Canon 16-35 f4 and my Canon 70-200 f2.8 zoomFeedback
What worked for me was getting the rhythm of the fireworks to anticipate the right moments to capture and then shooting In bulb mode.
