Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Grand River Pow Wow in Brantford Ontario.

Time

Just as the sun was setting and the performers were getting ready to do their final dance.

Lighting

Natural light

Equipment

This was shot with a Lumix DCG9 with a 30mm Sigma lens

Inspiration

I wanted to take portraits of the dancers and the way he was dressed was perfect for the shot.

Editing

I shot in raw and then switched to black and white. I also blacked out the background to focus on him.

In my camera bag

Lumix DCG9 with a 30mm, a 56mm and a 100-400mm lens. Plus a mini tripod just in case.

Feedback

Cultural performances are some of the best places to get portraits. But remember to always ask beforehand.
