I took this photo on a walk in the woods with my 4-year-old cousin. He asked me to go see a small waterfall that we have in my hometown and as we were walking, he was dazzled by the butterflies we met along the way. Finally, I managed to keep him quiet to take this picture.Time
I wasn't sure about taking the camera with me, because it was around 3 pm in July and the sun was still pretty high, but I decided to take it anyway. I'm glad I did!Lighting
The sun was at its highest point, which I know it's not the perfect time to shoot photos, but all that natural lighting actually helped to bring life and energy to the photo, illuminating the butterfly, and accentuating the contrast between light and shadows.Equipment
I used my Canon 750D with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. That was it.Inspiration
My walk and the joy in my 4-year-old cousin's eyes. He was so happy and so curious about the butterflies that we actually forgot about our first goal, which was to see the waterfall, and it took us a long time to get there.Editing
Just some color enhancing and cropping. In my camera bag
Just my Canon 750D camera, a Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens and a tripod. For now, that's about it!Feedback
Always carry your camera with you, because you don't want to miss a good shot just because you left your camera at home. Photography is a great way to help remember stories and beautiful moments you spend with the ones you love. And when we least expect it, something beautiful comes along, sits on a leaf and awaits for you to take the photo.
