This photo was taken at Patonga beach on the Central Coast.Time
Patonga Beach is about 20minutes drive from my home. I decided to get up early and go there around 7am. It was only a short walk from where I parked the car to the beach. By the time I set up my drone and started flying, it would have been around 7.30am. There was nobody on the beach at the beach.Lighting
Conditions on this day were perfect. No wind, enough satellites and a little bit of pink sky.Equipment
My drone is the DJI Mavic 2 pro which has a Hasellblad lens on it. Being early in the morning I used the ND 8 filter on the lens.Inspiration
I love top down shots. I like simplicity. It’s peaceful.Editing
The first thing I would have done to this photo is crop it and probably rotate it to get the right angle. I would have also enhanced the colours.In my camera bag
I carry quite a few things in my bag. I like to be prepared for different situations. I carry a plastic bag which is very important. I don’t like putting my bag on wet or Sandy ground. I carry a launching pad so the drone does not have any obstructions. I’ve got spare propellers just in case I damage one of them. Then I have the normal stuff such as two spare batteries and filters fir different conditions.Feedback
I always check the Safe to fly app before I go on any location. I make sure I can fly there and I also check that there’s no gusts wind and enough satellites.
