Behind The Lens

Location

This portrait was taken in Venice Fla, at a local rookery.

Time

Morning

Lighting

the lighting was just another beautiful day in Florida.

Equipment

I use Nikon mostly with a few non Nikon lens in the mix

Inspiration

The inspiration for this photo, I was shooting birds nesting on their little island. this night heron landed in that branch abou.t 8'to the side of me, to my amazement he stayed there an posed for his "portrait"

Editing

I always do some noise reduction, some sharpening, and cropping out things that do not belong within the photo.

In my camera bag

( usually have 1 Nikon d500 with a 200/500mm on a tripod, and 1 D500 with 300mm to hand hold for faster moving birds)This is the equipment I use now. I think this was shot on a d7000 Here is an update I have gone to Sony I now use a Sonya9 with 100mm/400mm also using the 200mm/600mm Sony lens along with that i am using 1.4 teleconverter. did this a few yrs ago for the speed of 20 frames a second.

Feedback

Yes ....... Always take that shot. my thinking is if something gets you to left your camera to your eye than take the shot..look at it later.
