Location
I was in Urquhart Bay near Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness ScotlandTime
It was early evening in AugustLighting
The sun had just gone down below the hills, giving a wonderful sky, but giving enough light to give the silhouetteEquipment
I used a Canon EOS 600D with a Canon 18-55mm lensInspiration
With the tree in silhouette, with the sky the right colour, I wanted to try and get the calm after the stormy winds earlier that dayEditing
NoIn my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon EOS60OD with a Canon 18-55mm lens, a Canon 80-200mm lens and a Tamron 70-300mm lensFeedback
Always keep a eye on the sky, look where the sun is going and just wait for the right moment to take that photo. Look for something large to get a good silhouette, in my youth I managed to get a similar picture with a hot air balloon, it was on a film camera and I’m trying to find it so I can share it
