Behind The Lens

Location

Our family went to rest in Italy, Calabria. We took several sets of clothes and prepared to take a similar photo. The photo is of me and my wife. The photo was taken by my daughter.

Time

We were getting ready to take a photo before sunset. We searched for several places, and found beautiful locations in the forest, on the way to the beach. The photo was taken on August 28, ?2019, ??19:10:50.

Lighting

We were looking for a place in the forest where there was good light. But it was overcast, but in some places the sun swept away. The light was soft but weak. I had to adjust the camera to get a good, bright shot - I added ISO 1000, f/5.6, 1/50s.

Equipment

I have: NIKON D7500, Universal Lens Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 18-140mm and tripod

Inspiration

I really like taking pictures of my family, so when we go on vacation, we try to come up with an idea for a photo. So we were looking for new photo ideas. We liked very much the idea - a kiss behind a hat. And we decided that we would take such a photo. This photo has become one of our favorites!

Editing

The photo came out a bit dark, but I had the original raw photo. I added more exposure, added more color, warmer tone - to add more brown, removed some noise.

Try to plan your shoot ahead of time. Think about positions, how to dress, what time of day you will take a photo, what kind of light you need, try to find already similar photos of other photographers and analyze them. Then you can make your photo quickly, efficiently and beautifully.
