Behind The Lens

Location

This photo Of my cool boss was taken at my work place, while I was demonstrating some new lighting equipment I had bought.

Time

This photo was taken at about mid day, but it was in a studio so there was no natural light.

Lighting

I used a collapsible beauty dish that I had recently bought, with a fill light and edge light behind the model

Equipment

3 light setup, one With a beauty Dish the other two with soft boxes. Canon DSLR and a 50mm lens

Inspiration

I was demonstrating lighting techniques and testing the new beauty dish I had bought to my work colleagues.

Editing

I converted the photo to black and white, adjusted levels and curves... I also had to remove a dark patch on the background wall

In my camera bag

Canon 650D 50mm lens 75-250mm lens 18-55 kit lens Canon M100 Tripod UV filters

Feedback

I would say, start with one light (your main light source in the shot) and get that light right before adding extra lights... add those one at a time as well.
