This photo was taken in Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan - Home of most famous Tigress in the world "Machali". During the early morning safari, "Arrowhead" was roaming around the pond with her two cubs. Arrowhead is the direct descendent to Machali. Ranthambore National Park used to be hunting grounds of Kings that ruled the region. Ranthambore Fort is situated in the forest above a hill overlooking the forest.Time
This is one of my favorite clicks. Me and my cousins almost drove for 13 hours and reached Ranthambore. Next day we woke up at 5:00 AM, It was cold January month in Rajasthan. It was really exciting moment when we board the camper van for safari. After almost an hour of looking for tigers, our safari guide spotted Arrowhead near a drinking pond. This photo was taken on 12th January 2020 8:12 AM.Lighting
A lot of people were gathered around the pond to photograph this tiger. The tiger was posing for us. Since the forest was dense and the camper van was full of people I climbed over the roof of Van and tried to click through a tree blocking my view. It was dawn and sunlight was blocked by the mountains and forest trees.Equipment
This was shot on Canon 1200d, no Tripod or Flash, Portrait mode.Inspiration
I was deeply inspired by the National Geographic documentary on Tigress "Machali". It was really amazing when i realized that the Tiger was actually aware of 50 people taking her photographs and started posing for them. That really blew my mind. I had to capture that moment. My model was right there in front of me posing for me, I had to capture her.Editing
I did not do any post-processing.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Canon EOS 60D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens.Feedback
I am not a professional photographer. But I would like to say that an spiritual connection is really required when you click. It is alright if nobody can understand the deeper meaning behind your click but you can. That is very important for me. I try to find deeper meaning behind my clicks.
