Location
The photo was taken in my home in New Jersey, USA. I am an enthusiast photographer, in which allows me to capture ideas in the moment.Time
The photo was actually taken in the evening but I was indoors.Lighting
In order to properly capture light the subject, I had to utilize two fixed LED umbrella lights and a remote speed camera. This allowed me to fill in the shadows.Equipment
The equipments used were a Sony a7r3, Sigma 35mm 1.4 lens, and a Godox TT685s speed flash.Inspiration
As I adopted this kitten, I was inspired to take such a photo to provide his foster agency for memory.Editing
The only post-processsing editing I did was whitening the backdrop a bit more as it had a more tan color.In my camera bag
I tend to carry around my Sony a7r3, Simga 35 1.4, Sony 20m 1.4, Sigma 100-400m 4.3-5.6, Sony 95m 2.8, godox TT685s flash, and various filters. This allows me to be prepared for all occasions.Feedback
One important advice I can provide is having patience. Animals tend to have a short attention span so it’s really important to wait for the shot. If you can have someone support you by guiding the animal as you wait to take the photo will be extremely helpful.
