Location
This photo was taken outside Nellis Air Force Base which is located on the outskirts of Las Vegas Nevada.Time
I love shooting in the last couple of hours before sunset. The light in Fall and Spring is really amazing. This image was taken at 5;30pm in February.Lighting
I love filming at the end of the day when the lightening especially is much softer.Equipment
I was using my Canon EOS 7D Mark 2 with an 400mm canon lens.Inspiration
I am a huge military aviation fan. Nellis AFB hosts an exercise called Red Flag three times a year. All manner of US and foreign aircraft take part in this exercise. So I spent 2 weeks of and on spotting outside the base. The B1 bomber is one of my favourite aircraft. I loved the light at this time with my favourite aircraft coming into land.Editing
I try not to go crazy with post processing. For this image it was mainly about cropping and then sharpening the image a little. In my camera bag
At the moment I have 2 lens that I use on a regular basis, 50-250mm lens and then a 100-400mm lens.Feedback
For me capturing an aircraft in flight works best if you have something to balance it in the background, be it clouds, or a rock formation. A plane alone in blue sky can be a little dull. I love the soft light in the fall and east spring. Taking pictures is always an experiment no matte how many you have taken before.
