This photo was taken at one of my favorite trails in Chestnut Ridge Park, in Orchard Park, NY.Time
This photo was taken likely near the end of the day when the sun was not so high in the sky. I tend to go out photographing at that time, to avoid harsh shadows from midday sun.Lighting
Golden hour or overcast days are my favorite time to shoot any type of subjects, whether it be people or landscapes.Equipment
I now have a Sony a7iii and usually always have my 24-70mm 2.8 or my 50mm 1.4 lens. Those are my go-to lenses. That, or when I'm in a situation where I don't have my camera, I will use my google pixel 5 phone as the camera on that phone is exceptional. However, nothing compares to the images taken with an actual camera. The overall quality is much better, esp in post processing.Inspiration
I love the way the trees line the trail. I've always loved paths. They tell so many stories. And a good photo should be worth a million words.Editing
I like to enhance a photo by naturally bringing out what is already there. Fall in WNY is so beautiful, so I lightly enhanced the colors, but not much else with this image. In my camera bag
I carry two bodies, a Sony A7 and a Sony a7iii. I have an off camera flash, and always carry a zoom lens, a 35mm, 50mm and 85mm prime, as well as my 24-70mm. I photograph a lot of people as well so I love my prime lenses.Feedback
There is beauty everywhere. We just have to be willing to see it. In my opinion, composition is everything in a photo. I love paths and leading lines so when I'm out in the country, I look for symmetry, vibrant colors, reflections...anything that catches my eye. I challenge myself to find a unique way to capture an otherwise "average" image.
