Behind The Lens

Location

The picture was taken by the Wadden Sea in Denmark after the water has receded. this place is not far away from Mandø Ebbe road there leads over to the small island of Mandø

Time

the picture is taken just after the sun has set in the Wadden Sea. approximately around 7.30 pm

Lighting

my goal was to have such a long closing time that the lines appeared in the seabed and the beautiful orange light appeared in the background

Equipment

The equipment I use is my beloved Canon 6D, a full frame camera and my 24-105 L F4 lens. And use a Carbon tripod when shooting with long closing time

Inspiration

I was inspired by the beautiful lines on the seabed and saw the beautiful light coming right after sunset

Editing

As I always take my pictures in raw and they always come through Lightroom where I give the picture more contrast and I control the light as I experienced it. Then it was through Photoshop where I did a bit of Dodge & Burning on the great lines on the seabed

In my camera bag

Canon 6D, NiSi filters (POL & ND 10 stops) Canon 70-200mm L F4, Canon 24-105 L F4 and Tamron 90mm macro. And I always have a Sirui Carbon tripod

Feedback

2 things I want to focus on is one always spend time finding the right composition and then spend time setting up the camera just right. Maybe take some test shots with your cell phone. And then it is always a good idea to stay out 1-2 hours after the sun is well down to get the right light
