Location
Mt Rainier National Park on a trail overlooking the glacial valley.Time
it was mid July so this was taken very early in the evening. If I remember correctly it was roughly 10pm or so.Lighting
For this shot I took advantage of the rising moonlight spilling across the cloud cover to bring out more details and give the shot a unique look and feel.Equipment
A Sony a7iii, Rokinon 14mm wide angle lens, MeFoto tripod, and a remote shutter.Inspiration
My friend and I were looking for a nice spot to give us an unobstructed view of Mt Ranier and the milky way above it so we packed up our gear and ventured out into the setting sun looking for the ideal spot.Editing
I wasn't able to shoot multiple similar photos thanks to those clouds so I didn't stack this one or cut and piece photos together. What you see is what you get ... this one is all legit. I simply edited it in Lightroom for a few tweaks. In my camera bag
Sony a7iii, remote shutter, tripod, batteries, lens cleaner, and a handful of lenses including an ... 8mm fisheye, 14mm wide angle, 16-35mm Zeiss, 24-70mm, 28mm prime, and a 50mm prime.Feedback
Open up that aperture! How low can you go ... for this one I set it at f/2.8. Crank up that iso but keep in mind the higher you go the more noise you'll end up with. I set mine at 2800 for this shot. Because I was using a 14mm I set my exposure time at 30 seconds.
