The whole building was lit up, being on the canal that was so dark the reflection was like a mirror.Equipment
The photo was hand held with my elbows on a railing to get the steadiness. I used a Canon 7D, no flash. The lens is a Tamaron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3. This was purchased especially for our trip, very versatile lense.Inspiration
I love reflection photography, we were just walking around seeing the sights of Turku. Being winter it get dark very early like 3-4 O’clock, so 6pm it was quiet dark.Editing

Steadiness is the trick for this type of photography, use a tripod if possible. I used the railing to place both elbows on making it like a bipod. Use your breathing to help calm and steady yourself. 3 steady breaths and hold on the last exhale then press the button as smoothly as possible. This helps take any unsteadiness out.
